Iran is pushing ahead with the development of new air defense systems that are entirely designed and built domestically, with no known foreign counterparts. This was revealed by Commander of the Air Defense Forces Alireza Elhami, who emphasized that these projects are steadily being integrated into operational service.
A strategic advantage in secrecy
Elhami highlighted that one of the key strengths of Iran's air defense systems lies in the fact that potential adversaries remain unaware of their specifications, capabilities, and operating principles. This secrecy provides a significant strategic edge, as foreign forces cannot prepare countermeasures against systems they do not fully understand.
Path to serial production
The commander noted that the new systems will move into serial production once all required tests and procedures are successfully completed. This indicates a structured approach to ensuring reliability and effectiveness before mass deployment.
Iran's continued investment in indigenous defense technology underscores its commitment to self-reliance in military capabilities, a stance that has been a cornerstone of its defense policy in recent years.
